Monte- I have been playing gold about 7 years now and I have a couple swing problems I want help with. I think I have 2 major problems that I need help with. (Although what do I know, not being that good.
1. I have a steep swing. I tend to be very up and down.
2. My lower body/hip rotation needs major help. I tend to power my shots with my upper body and play my slice.
I pretty consistenly hit in the mid to low nineties with my best days being upper eighties. Let me know if you have any tips for these two issues. The main thing I want to get better at is my iron play.
Thanks in advance!

Without seeing your swing it is probably controlled too much with the hands.
Try initiating the backswing with your hip turn. That will get the lower body started and diminish how much you take it away with your hands.

Go buy yourself a copy of Ben Hogan's Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf. It was written 50 years ago and remins the best and simplest golf instruction book ever written. Read chapters one and two over and over. This has to do with grip and setup. These are things that any golfer can do properly, things that you do before you swing the club. If your grip and setup are good then the saying "water seeks its level" comes to mind. It becomes more and more difficult to make a bad swing with a propper setup.
