We're still looking at doing a golf clinic in Hampton Roads - VA Beach - Williamsburg VA but it has slipped until October. I'm thinking the 16th or 23rd. Monte would prefer a weekday but I'm not sure I can get enough folks to take off work It'll be a full day clinic covering all aspects of the game and cost is $200.00. We're looking for 12 people so please reply here if you'd like to attend and let me know if a weekday is OK for you.
Also, active forums are a great place for like minded people to share thier ideas with each other as well as have our instructor, Monte chime in. I beleive this is especially helpful when we post videos of ourselves. It can be extremely helpful to discover things we're doing well and not so well with our golf swings. It can also be a distraction and cause one to work on things that are not beneficial because we all think we're golf instructors ;D However, if Monte chimes in and lets us know if what we're saying as advice is good or bad as well as if what we're feeling is really what we're thinking, that can be extremely beneficial. I don't think it's fair for Monte to give free lessons but general comments from him on peoples swings should lead to us taking more advantage of his swing surgeon site. Plus it's just interesting to see other people advance through thier own swing metamorphisis
An example; steely talks about feeling like he's holding the lag in one of his posts, maybe that's his feeling because he is relaxed and not actively holding the lag with his arms because he's powering the swing with his shoulders/body or maybe he does keep his wrists stiff and is actively holding the lag. Who knows unless we have video... If you're starting your swing down with your hands and then switch to transistioning with just your shoulders it may very well feel like your holding the lag but thats just the result of not using them... See, there's the golf instructor in me
Lastly, different ways of expressing the same thing can often be helpful, make something click. This will happen more often if we all become more active in the forums.
